Each and every day, a Bergman film is screened somewhere in the world. A new Bergman play is staged every other week. Bergman’s books are re-published and translated into additional languages every year, just as original essays and articles are being written discussing his work. Despite our best efforts, we are unable to cover all Bergman-related news, but here we bring you the most important happenings.

  • Eric Ericson in memoriam

    Swedish choral conductor Eric Ericson, of world renown, has passed away at 94 years of age. He worked with Ingmar Bergman on The Magic Flute. In the picture, the two friends meet again at Bergman Week, 2006.

    The claim of the headline may be slightly exagerrated, but the fact remains that board member and former chair of the Foundation, Professor Astrid Söderbergh Widding, since 1 February is Vice-Chancellor of Stockholm University.
