Bergman explains how Marie was the model for Summer Interlude, and also touches on the act of filmmaking.
Someone once said that filmmaking is a one-man job, the director's. This is a lie. I have counted around 120 people who were involved in Summer Interlude, and I am sure I have forgotten a few. Filmmaking is truly like a centipede, in that all those many feet must keep the same rhythm.
