During the filming of Torment, Bergman participated as assistant director and script boy. Here together with Alf Sjöberg, Alf Kjellin (Jan-Erik Widgren) and Mai Zetterling (Bertha Olsson).

Workbook no 2 includes a school story without title. Most likely the first draft to Torment: ’The rain poured outside on the street. It was semi-dark inside the school in spite of the lights, which glowed with a sleepy indirect light.’
